Well I’ve had a little help this week! Councillor Buckton is not only developing into a great cyclist – although he still believes he’s a byclist, not yet making that last confidence leap in his head – he’s also a very good poet!! Here’s what he wrote whilst on a training ride this week. Take a look then we’ll revisit progress so far. The ballad of the Forty Foot ...

One man, one crazy moment leading to one big challenge! This is the story so far.... So, a little bit of background info first. We - Darren and Theresa - met the subject of this story back in April at a Tourism Network meeting held at Fourwinds in March. FYI If you’re a local business involved in tourism in any way you really should head along to the next one, they are invaluable as a way to network and share your business with others. Let’s face it most of us agree that we need each other to spread the word. It...

Peckover House

05 May 2016 14:58

Peckover House’s famous mauve wisteria is coming into flower as May approaches, welcoming visitors with the promise of the delights they can expect as they explore the garden. But the gardening team are happy to show that the place has more than just a pretty face! Work in the garden never ends, of course, with the gardeners working hard to display its late spring beauty. In the background, though, work of a far less glamorous type goes on and the gardeners have become award winners for it. ...

A girls' grammar school built in 1851 by March Consolidated Charities. The development of the building is thought to be the responsibility...
