Railway Lakes, comprises of two lakes covering 2.5 acres. The first lake being the largest and deepest, with depths dropping to 35 feet. The main stock in this lake is carp which have been caught up to 35lb plus. Popular baits on the deep lake are pastes and sweetcorn but maggots will catch carp up in the water in the summer. The shallow lake is smaller but houses a huge amount of fish including tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch and carp from a few ounces to well into double figures.
To get there, head out of Whittlesey on the back-road towards Benwick. After crossing the railway line look for a small garden centre on the left-hand side. Turn left next to it, drive down to the bottom of the road, turning right at the fence and carry on to the car park.
